Martin Castillo

World super flyweight champion Martin Castillo of Hacienda Hts., Calif. will defend against former champion Alexander 'Explosivo' Munoz of Venezuela on Top Rank's big 'Seek and Destroy' championship fight card which will feature world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko vs. interim champion Hasim Rahman in Las Vegas on Nov. 12. Castillo won the WBA 115-pound title from Munoz last Dec. 3 in Laredo, Texas. Castillo boxed effectively and wore down the champ who was making his fourth world title defense. Castillo won by decision. Since, Munoz has won three straight times and is now the WBA #1 rated contender at super flyweight. Castillo has a record of 29-1 with 16 knockouts; Munoz is 28-1 with 26 knockouts. Castillo, 28, has been in sensational bouts and is coming off a dominating performance, winning practically every round against former world champion Eric 'Little Hands of Steel' Morel in Las Vegas on March 19. Castillo vs. Munoz will be shown live on the HBO PPV telecast which will include Antonio Margarito's world title defense against Manuel 'Shotgun' Gomez of Laredo and a special appearance by the wildly popular unbeaten teenager Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. of Culiacan, Mexico. Top Rank, with K2 Promotions, Caesars Palace and Wynn Las Vegas, is promoting 'Seek and Destroy' which will be held at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
