Golden Boy

Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions will present the inaugural "Boxing World Cup" on Saturday when teams consisting of six fighters from Mexico and six fighters from Thailand compete for a beautiful $200,000 trophy created by famed jeweler IceLink. The event will take place at the Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson, Arizona. Mexico would have to be considered the favorite to claim the cup, with two champions (Fernando Montiel and Hugo Cazares) being tabbed as heavy favorites to win their fights and retain their world titles. For Thailand, featherweight Terdsak Jandaeng seems to be a solid pick to defeat Carlos Contreras.
